Highly awaited Shahrukh Khan’s new film Jawan hit theatres on Thursday. A day before the usual release day. I think distributors did that trick to stretch the weekend. And the trick worked because, on Jawan’s first day, the domestic collection crossed the all-previous milestones.

As per the famous trade analyst and movie critic Taran Adarsh, Jawan’s first-day collection is 65 crores and 50 lac INR, which is almost 20% more than Shahrukh’s previous blockbuster Pathaan.

Pathaan earned 55 crores on the opening day and concluded at INR 654 crore in India till released on OTT.
Though Pathaan’s content was not good enough to reach elite cinema lovers, still it reached the milestone of 1000 crore rupees worldwide. So, if we go according to Pathaan’s business, Jawan will definitely cross Pathaan’s collection soon because it is a much better cinema than the previous one.

Tamil filmmaker Atlee raised good, appreciable, and solid social issues in his film. A man against the whole system is a very typical South cinema storyline but Atlee put it in an extremely stylish way (improvised it as a man and his six women). Though useless songs, unnecessary slow-motion sequences, and exaggerated cruelty may cause you some headaches. But ‘if’ (that is a big IF) you are Shahrukh Khan’s Super Fan, then you will enjoy every hip or the tip of this movie, without any doubt.
Well, come back to the business, trade pandits suggested that the first weekend of Jawan would be cross 200 crores, and it will recover its budget (which is 300 crores, by the way) easily by the end of the first week.
I think the lifetime collection will be around 800 crores domestically.
Anyways, Jawan’s word of mouth is very strong, and we have no doubt that just like Pathaan, it will also become a great booster for Shahrukh Khan and for the whole Indian film industry. But the success of films like KGF, Pathaan, Gadar 2 or so, declares that quality cinema lovers are avoiding reaching theatres. They are happy with the over-the-top entertainment.
