Whenever we watch a movie based on cricket or any sport and see India winning in the end, our hearts fill with pride. Just like it happened in the 2011 World Cup. India earned the respect from the world by defeating Sri Lanka in the Finale.
Since then, this is the 3rd World Cup when India has been eager to repeat history. The Cricket World Cup started on 5 October but for Indians, the tournament began on 8 October when India and Australia fought each other. That battle reminded me of the famous 2003 World Cup Sourav Gangully’s era, when India lost only two matches throughout the tournament and both with mighty Australia.
But the tables are turned now. India snatched the win from Australia’s mouth in the very first match.
Anyway, we hope that this time INDIA will lift the Trophy again.
India is a country where many films have been created on cricket in almost all Genres, including fictional, biographical, women-centric or even controversial, you name it. On this occasion, I have brought cricket-based movies.

Here is the list of Cricket based Movies
Lagaan

Every person should watch Lagaan at least once – whether you like the game or not. Released in 2001, this story is based during British rule, Bhuvan who is a farmer accepts the challenge of England’s cricketer to play. If they win, the villagers will be exempted from paying taxes for three years.
This teaches us that your entire focus should be on playing, regardless of what may happen next in that game (life) whether you are aware of it or not.
Iqbal

The story is about a villager whose dreams are bigger than his age. He is deaf and mute yet wishes to play for India.
A must-watch film for every cricket fan so that you know that no flaw might hinder you from achieving your goal.
Dil bol Hadippa

This is about the days when ladies were only visible on the home ground and not on the cricket pitch.
In such a circumstance, a lady disguised herself emerged from the courtyard and made her way to the cricket pitch, where she delivered the Pakistanis a lesson they would never forget.
This is the story of Veera (played by Rani Mukherjee) who comes to play by changing her attire to a man named Veer. Cricket provides pride not just to her, but to the entire country.
Patiala House

This film seems more to me to be about fulfilling dreams than cricket, because an Indian player playing for England is nothing to be proud of, but this movie is more for parents who do not support their children’s dreams.
The movie revolves around an England-based Panjabi family. Gurtej hates English people but his son Gattu (Akshay Kumar) is a bowler who gets selected to play in England’s National Team against his father’s will.
Chain Kuli ki Main Kuli

Another but different type of film in which the coach of the Indian Team observes an orphan boy playing cricket efficiently and selects him to play for INDIA.
Although this is an impossible situation, the ability cannot be measured by age. Today is the time of the internet, anyone can show their talent even at a very young age.
Ghoomar

What can you do with one hand – eat, write, lift a glass of water, wave at your younger brother and batting? How?
It is possible! The film Ghoomar is based on this. A woman who was able to do only one thing best in her life- batting, suddenly loses her hand in an accident.
What will happen now? A coach trained her to become a bowler. She gets selected for the Indian team and her bowling astounds everyone. We learn the same thing from Ghoomar that Iqbal taught us
Shabash Mithu

Women’s Cricket team changed the way of thinking of Indians. Over the years, this team has brought glory to its country worldwide.
Shabash Mitthu is a bio-pic of ex-captain Mithali Raj who was a dancer in her childhood but eventually became a cricketer and makes the Indian women’s cricket team famous in the world. The film depicts the struggles of female cricketers.
MS Dhoni

A captain of the Indian team who will be remembered for 50 years by future generations. A captain who led India to its second World Cup victory. A captain whose leadership is still mentioned as an example today.
Even now, when we see the film based on MS Dhoni’s life, our hearts overflow with pride.
The story is of Mahendra Singh Dhoni (portrayed by the Late Sushant Singh Rajput) who used to play football instead of cricket, but fate had something else in mind. Famous for his game all over the world, M S Dhoni loves cricket and we love him.
83

It’s exciting to surprise everyone when no one expects anything from you. This occurred during the 1983 Cricket World Cup.
The Indian team performed astonishingly well under the captaincy of Kapil Dev. Such a momentous match that we still remember today.
Conclusion
