Happy Birthday Madhubala

Madhubala was born into a Muslim ‘middle-class’ family.

Madhubala had 11 brothers and sisters. She was at number five among them.

Madhubala’s father was a Pashtun from Afghanistan while her mother was from Punjab.

Madhubala was a big fan of Hollywood actor Clark Gable.

Madhubala debuted as a lead actress in the film ‘Neel Kamal’.

Madhubala is also known as ‘The Beauty with Tragedy’ and ‘Venus of Indian Cinema’.

At one time Madhubala started liking Dilip Kumar. But Father Ataullah Khan did not like this.

During that time, Kishore Kumar proposed to Madhubala. Madhubala also agreed. Then both of them got married.

After a few years, his health suddenly started deteriorating. Actually, there was a hole in her heart. She came to know about this during the shooting of the film ‘Mughal-e-Azam’.

After marriage, Kishore Kumar took Madhubala to London for treatment. But when he came back, he left Madhumala alone, according to Madhubala’s sister.

According to the sister, both of them did not talk to each other. Meetings at home have also been reduced. She now started living in a small house in Mumbai with a driver and a nurse. Their relationship had broken down.

Madhubala married Kishore Kumar in 1960 when she was only 27 years old.

Ultimately, on February 23, 1969, she died in agony at the age of just 36.
