‘You’ Web Series- Introduction

Joe murders both her boyfriend, who was cheating on her, and her closest friend, who wants to keep Beck under her control so that Beck can be free.
What is Joe’s mistake in this, he was doing all of this out of love – the world will not comprehend this, and they would label him a psycho-killer, therefore he keeps this concealed. He doesn’t even inform Beck, but what happens if Beck finds out? Will Joe murder her as well or will make her understand that he is doing everything for her?
So, this is the story of the web series You whose first season streamed in 2018. This is a psycho-drama series in which Penn Badgley portrays Joe, Elizabeth Lail plays Beck, and Shay Mitchell plays Beck’s friend. Many additional characters with significant roles will be shown in the web series.
Performance

Shay Mitchell: Shay performed the role of a wealthy woman, who took control of Beck as if she were her property.
She hated Joe and wanted her friend to date some nice guy, not a bookseller. She fit into the role. However, sometimes she was also seen overacting.
Elizabeth Lail: She looked confused and underdog in the Beck’s character. That’s why her friend wanted to take her advantage. She only argued with Joe because she couldn’t say everything to anyone.
Joe was the one who taught her to have faith in herself. Elizabeth appeared incredible in her character.
Penn Badgley: Nobody could portray Job except Penn. A brilliant character who was behind time because he was into books all the time. He was able to find his life’s solution from books, not Google. That’s the first thing I love about the character.
Writing and Dialogue

The web series is written so beautifully. While showing the story of the present, we get glimpses of Joe’s childhood. However, the story might become tedious in between but, at the end of the episode, it motivates me to watch the following episode.
Joe constantly talks to himself throughout the series, his observations and remarks on every little thing impress me a lot.
Dialogues
- Some people have a hard time letting love in. Some people are built for love. Some people — some people are searching — searching for someone who can love them the way they deserve. That’s you.
- I wanted to be wrong. I never wanted to be wrong so badly in my life. I was begging to be proven wrong. But it was looking like I was right. You trust someone. You give them your heart, and what do they do? Is there even a punishment that fits the crime of lying, of manipulating like this? Of breaking someone’s heart? I guess I’m bad at picking good people, but I’m good at catching bad people red-handed.
My Perception

If you’ve been seeking something to binge-watch for a while, this web series will not let you down. This series has four seasons accessible on Netflix. You may begin watching it right now.
I will be back with the review of the second season.
