Edith Pretty, a widow and wealthy woman, lives in Woodbridge, a small town in Suffolk, England, and contacts a local museum to excavate three mounds that form part of her property Sutton Hoo and hires archaeologist Basil Brown for this. In the story, Christian Bale plays retired detective Augustus Lander who is appointed by the army of the United States Military Academy to investigate the hanging of cadet Leroy Fry, Fry’s heart is removed after hanging.
